BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Taylor is Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Cleveland Clinic, and its Lerner College of Medicine. Academic interests include contact and occupational dermatitis, quality and patient safety, artificial intelligence, and public policy. He established the Section of Industrial Dermatology at the Cleveland Clinic and was the first Quality Improvement Officer for the Dermatology-Plastic Surgery Institute. As vice-president of the AAD he helped create and served as first chair of its Committee on Patient Safety and was first co-chair of the AAD Data Derm® Registry Task Force. He is a graduate of the United States Capitol Page School, Indiana University and its School of Medicine with residency training at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by two years as an occupational dermatologist in the US Public Health Service with NIOSH. He has served six major national and regional medical organizations in an official capacity including as vice-president of both the AAD and the American Dermatological Association, and as past president of the American Contact Dermatitis Society. He is currently an FDA Special Government Employee and a member of the North American Contact Dermatitis Group, the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Steering Committee, the AMA Dermatology Section Council as an Alternate Delegate to the AMA House of Delegates and other major medical and dermatologic societies. He has served as a consultant to industry and multiple other US and international governmental and non-profit organizations. He is Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine and the author/co-author of 435 scientific articles, abstracts, and book chapters. Honors have included seven eponymous lecture presentations; Master Dermatologist Award (2024) from the AAD; the Walter Shelly Leadership Award from the Women's Dermatologic Society (2025); Practitioner of the Year Award from the Dermatology Foundation (2025); and honorary membership in four national and international dermatological societies.
