BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Tarbox graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine at the top of her class. She completed her Internal Medicine internship, Dermatology Residency, and Dermatopathology Fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. During her residency, Michelle received a WDS Mentorship Grant and traveled to Australia to study dermoscopy with Dr. Scott Menzies. Michelle then served as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at St. Louis University in Missouri where she was Teacher of the Year in 2012. In 2013, she returned to TTUHSC where she currently serves as Chair and Program Director. Dr. Tarbox is a regular volunteer with the Lubbock Impact Free Clinic and was honored with the Dean’s Clinical Teaching Award in 2016 and the Community Service Award from the Lubbock County Medical Society in 2022. Dr. Tarbox has published over 100 scientific articles and has lectured for over 200 Regional, National, and International Dermatologic Societies. She is the co-host and co-creator of the Dermasphere Podcast, which now has over 155 episodes with over 500,000 total plays and an average audience size of 3,000 - 4,000 dermatologists and medical students. She and co-host Luke Johnson review recent practice-relevant articles in the world of dermatology every two weeks on the Dermasphere Podcast.
