BIOGRAPHY
George-Sorin Tiplica, MD, PhD, is a professor of dermato-venereology and the Head of the Dermatology 2 Clinic at Colentina Clinical Hospital, affiliated with “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. His research interests encompass wound healing, bacterial infections, and parasitic infestations of the skin. Dr. Tiplica is a co-author of the European guidelines on scabies, pediculosis pubis, molluscum pendulum, and syphilis. In the field of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), he serves as the Section Editor for STIs at the International Journal of Dermatology and has been the President of the IUSTI-Europe Council since 2021. Additionally, in the domain of wound healing, Dr. Tiplica holds the position of President of the UEMS Multidisciplinary Joint Committee on Wound Healing.
