BIOGRAPHY
Carmen Salavastru, Professor of Dermatology at Colentina Clinical Hospital, “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest is the head of Paediatric Dermatology Department since 2015. The main areas of interest are the inflammatory conditions of the skin in paediatric and geriatric patients, cutaneous infestations and rare skin diseases. She attended numerous international meetings as invited speaker and is a faculty member for many international education programmes (EADV Congress, ESPD Congress, CILAD meetings, AEDV Annual Congress, etc.). During the 30 years as dermatologist and venereologist, Prof. Salavastru co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers and several books, the most recent one being “Skin and the Heart” (Springer, 2021). As member of several international associations, she established professional relationships with colleagues around the world and these give her the opportunity to be involved in active networks that focus on clinical research and education programmes.
