BIOGRAPHY
Theodora Karagounis, MD, MS obtained her medical degree and Master of Biomedical Sciences from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her intern year at Massachusetts General Hospital and her dermatology residency at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine where she is now an Assistant Professor. She is a physician scientist with an interest in allergic and infectious skin diseases. She is broadly interested in how microbes impact skin health and atopy. Currently in the lab, she studies S. aureus in the gut and how it influences atopic dermatitis in children. As a clinician, she specializes in inflammatory skin diseases, primarily atopic and allergic contact dermatitis, and performs patch testing.
