DESCRIPTION

As dermatology continues to evolve, so do the ethical challenges surrounding how we select, train, and evaluate the next generation of dermatologists. This interactive session will explore pressing ethical issues in medical student and resident education, focusing on fairness, professionalism, and accountability. Topics will include the implications of Step 1 and Step 2 pass/fail scoring, equity and merit in the residency selection process, managing learner errors, the ethics of recommendation letters and ranking systems, and the growing influence of social media in applicant evaluation. Attendees will gain practical tools for navigating ethically complex situations in education and mentorship.
