BIOGRAPHY
Carmen Salavastru, Professor of Dermatology at Colentina Clinical Hospital, “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest is the head of Paediatric Dermatology Department since 2015. The main areas of interest are the inflammatory conditions of the skin, cutaneous infestations and rare skin diseases. She attended numerous international meetings as invited speaker and is a faculty member for many international education programmes. During the 30 years as dermatologist and venereologist, Prof. Salavastru co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers and several books, the most recent one being “Skin and the Heart” (Springer, 2021). As President of the Romanian Association of Paediatric Dermatology and Vice-president of the Romanian Association of Dermatology and Venereology she is involved in organising successful training programmes for the young dermatologists. As member of several international associations she established professional relationship with colleagues around the world and this gives her the opportunity to be involved in active networks that focus on clinical research.
