BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Nahid Y Vidal is a double board certified Dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon/cutaneous oncologist. Her areas of expertise include Mohs, Dermatologic excisions, lasers, skin cancer management, and complex facial reconstruction and revision. After completing undergraduate at Stanford, Dr. Vidal attended medical school at UC Davis, where she stayed for a preliminary internship in internal medicine. She then completed Dermatology residency at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, and a fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Dr. Vidal was the former Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock prior to returning to Mayo Clinic in 2019. She currently serves as Division Chair for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Vidal has won teacher of the year 3 times in her career, and has been heavily involved in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows both regionally and nationally. Dr. Vidal is passionate about innovation in Dermatologic surgery, medicine, education and beyond. She is the recipient of multiple grants and research awards, including two innovation grant funds such as for the development of multi-specialty generative artificial intelligence. Dr. Vidal is also the digital health and artificial intelligence pillar leader in dermatology at Mayo Clinic, and serves as Director of a research fellowship in AI/innovation and Dermatologic surgery.
