DESCRIPTION

The Augmented Intelligence Committee proposes this session to provide foundational knowledge in AI, to identify opportunities for dermatologists to assess and apply AI in practice to augment the efficiency, impact, and joy of caring for patients. Core concepts, updates on evidence, regulatory landscape, as well as challenges such as data quality/validation, privacy concerns, bias potential, and workflow integration will be covered with an emphasis on accessible and actionable information for providers to critically analyze emerging AI research and understand real-world implementation.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Summarize recent breakthroughs in technology, evolving regulations, and controversies in artificial intelligence.

2.

Examine real-world uses of AI for administrative tasks, clinical decision making, and patient education and engagement.

3.

Identify resources to design and implement AI in practice.
