S030 Dermatology Review: Skin Cancer, Surgical, and Cosmetic

In the cosmetic portion of this course, we will evaluate new and older laser technology and how to optimize the use of these technologies. We will get an update on the use of injectables in the context of providing a natural look. We will review cosmeceuticals available, both OTC and non-OTC, and their key active ingredients.
In the Oncologic portion of the course, we will review best practices in imaging for skin tumors, both benign and malignant. We will explore the use of superficial XRT in the treatment of skin cancer. We will discuss functionality assessments and their role in the treatment of skin cancer patients with various comorbidities.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Compare and describe older and newer laser technologies. Demonstrate best practices for obtaining a natural result using injectables. Discuss and evaluate the various cosmeceuticals; both those available over the counter and those formulated for physicians' offices.
Summarize and discuss imaging modalities and how they are best utilized for both benign and malignant skin tumors. Analyze new treatments in superficial radiation and understand utilization of those treatments.
Recognize the role of functionality in evaluating the best treatment in the context of the patient's age and health status.
