U096 Evidence-based Management of Melanocytic Neoplasms
DESCRIPTION
Open admission to eligible categories, no tuition or ticket
A critical appraisal of the evidence behind the changing landscape of melanoma management will be presented. The recent progress in the management of melanocytic nevi and melanoma includes 1) the revised Melanocytic Pathology Assessment Tool and Hierarchy for Diagnosis (MPATH-Dx) that provides clinicians risk stratification and treatment recommendation for nevi and melanoma, 2) a wider margin recommendation for melanoma in situ and Mohs surgery for melanoma in situ for the head and neck region, and 3) FDA approved adjuvant therapy for thick localized melanomas (Stage IIB and IIC). The session is geared toward all those who diagnose and manage melanomas.
