This session will explore the evolving landscape of virtual care delivery in dermatology, teaching participants key skills and best practices for leveraging innovative telemedicine modalities and platforms to optimize access to care, facilitate triage decisions, improve patient outcomes, and support health equity. Participants will learn about the various modes of virtual care, including live-interactive visits, online digital evaluation and management, interprofessional e-consults, and inpatient consultations, and how these can be effectively implemented to expand practice reach and increase access to dermatologist-level care.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1.

Tools for Virtual Care Delivery: Explain various modes of virtual care delivery (e.g., live-interactive, store-and-forward, online digital E/M, e-consults, inpatient consultations) and review their optimal use in the practice of dermatology.

2.

Innovations in Teledermatology: Discuss and examine evidence for new teledermatology tools, care delivery platforms, and virtual practice models that increase access to care, improve patient outcomes, and support health equity.

3.

Telemedicine Scope and Reach: Identify optimal cases for efficient and effective virtual care within a variety of dermatology practice models and examine the potential to leverage teledermatology for outreach to underserved populations.
