I will discuss patients whom I cared for in my career who have taught me important lessons. Some will illustrate rare conditions; others will show uncommon variations in presentation of common conditions or will let me share relationships that led to improving my approach to patients in general. The latter helped me to be a better physician in a humanistic sense. Case discussion will be supplemented by data from the literature.

Improve their diagnostic abilities by seeing examples of rare diseases.
