This session explores diagnostic errors with case-based examples. Clinical pearls in the diagnosis of medical dermatology cases will be highlighted. Emphasis will be placed on scenarios with the possibility of medical errors. The goal is to provide practical clinical pearls in order to identify dermatologic conditions that otherwise may be misdiagnosed. The audience will be empowered with the knowledge and tools to more effectively and confidently diagnose cutaneous diseases.

Identify the sources of cognitive error in dermatologic diagnosis.
Recognize cutaneous findings that help to make the correct diagnosis.
