DESCRIPTION

Open admission to eligible categories, no tuition or ticket

The social drivers of health (SDoH) are factors that influence an individual's ability to maximize their health potential. These social determinants include five domains: economic stability, education access and quality, health care access and quality, neighborhood and built environment, and social and community context. In dermatology, there is growing evidence of health disparities, partly driven by SDoH, influencing both disease prevalence and patient outcomes in multiple conditions. The aim of this session is to review the impact of SDoH on disease presentation and care delivery for vulnerable populations through a case-based format. The intended audience is practicing medical dermatologists.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1.

Discuss how social drivers of health impact dermatology patients and their care, using illustrative cases.

2.

Assess patients for social risk factors using evidence-based screening questions

3.

Formulate treatment plans that address social drivers of health
