Acne vulgaris is the most common skin disorder in Dermatology. Medical therapy is considered first-line in the treatment of all forms of acne, including inflammatory, comedonal and nodulocystic types. Recently, new technology has been developed to address acne. This session will review the published literature on the various lasers and energy devices used in the treatment of acne vulgaris, along with an algorithm that incorporates medical therapies. Safety protocols will be reviewed, including the use of these devices in diverse racial skin types.
