In this high-yield session, expert Dermatology Hospitalists will review some of the most common skin diseases seen in consultation. Topics include: pediatric emergencies, oncodermatology, severe cutaneous adverse reactions, vasculitis, bullous diseases, and more. Information will be delivered in high-impact 20-minute specialty segments with an emphasis on practical practice points that are not necessarily available in the literature or textbooks. The ultimate goal of this session is to equip attendees with practical and immediately applicable skills for inpatient and consult work within the house of medicine.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Identify cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases, medication reactions, and infections as they present in the hospitalized patient with skin disease.
Develop a working differential diagnosis, management plan, and treatment algorithm for hospitalized patients with skin disease.
Apply a host of new tips and tricks for performing bedside diagnostics, obtaining samples and performing procedures.
