DESCRIPTION

Open admission to eligible categories, no tuition or ticket

This session focuses on the presentation, diagnosis, and multi-disciplinary management of cutaneous manifestations of gastrointestinal inflammatory conditions. Inflammatory bowel disease impacts the skin with specific, reactive, and associated conditions including cutaneous crohn's disease, neutrophilic disorders, and rare mucocutaneous blistering conditions such as epidermolysis bullosa acquisata and linear IgA. In addition, other inflammatory conditions may impact both the skin and GI tract including dermatitis herpetiformis associated with celiac disease and bowel associated dermatosis arthritis syndrome (BADAS). This session is geared toward general dermatologists who are evaluating and managing these patients in conjunction with the gastroenterology team and collaborating on their care.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1.

Recognize and diagnose cutaneous manifestations of inflammatory gastrointestinal conditions

2.

Evaluate patients with cutaneous manifestations of inflammatory gastrointestinal conditions and recognize when and how to initiate an evaluation for gastrointestinal disease based on the cutaneous presentation.

3.

Collaborate with multi disciplinary providers to treat patients' cutaneous manifestations in the context of their gastrointestinal condition and treatment plan.
