DESCRIPTION

Open admission to eligible categories, no tuition or ticket

Despite their frequency, the reconstruction of alar defects can be challenging for even experienced surgeons. In this session a comprehensive approach to alar reconstruction will be presented. All aspects related to alar reconstruction will be discussed including defect selection, various reconstructive methods (including second intention healing; skin and cartilage grafting; local flaps; and staged and interpolated flaps), surgical technique, post-operative care, and methods to improve and revise results. We will also focus on comparing the use of both simple and complex methods for reconstructing the same defect.
