DESCRIPTION

Open admission to eligible categories, no tuition or ticket

Many skin disorders are more commonly diagnosed in children; others have a unique presentation in the pediatric population. This session will help participants identify and treat skin conditions in children, with a specific focus on how this care differs from adults. The session will provide guidance to general dermatologists on a child-centric approach to several disorders. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the unique differential diagnosis for skin conditions and the challenges of treatment in this age group.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1.

Identify key differences in the presentation of skin disorders in children when compared to adults.

2.

Appropriately manage pediatric patients with skin disease, with special emphasis on our knowledge of natural history/outcomes, and optimal treatment strategies in children.

3.

Develop a treatment strategy for pediatric patients with skin diseases, recognizing similarities and differences from adult patients.
