DESCRIPTION

Open admission to eligible categories, no tuition or ticket

This session will focus on the care of the dermatologic patient with oral complaints including patients with common and persistent complication and lesions of the oral cavity, Including premalignant and malignant disorders beyond oral lichen planus. We will present the variable clinical manifestations, etiologies and ongoing impact on the care of the dermatologic patient with drug manifestations. We will also present a series of clinical pearls to address when patients need an oral biopsy for diagnosis and focus on treatment

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1.

Examine and manage patients with important conditions and lesions of the oral cavity including white benign, premalignant and malignant disorders

2.

Recognize oral manifestation of the important and growing class of drugs called immune complex inhibitors.

3.

Gain comfort in performing oral biopsies and learn important clinical pearls to successfully obtain diagnostic specimens from the oral cavity.
