DESCRIPTION

Open admission to eligible categories, no tuition or ticket

The skin is a window into the inner workings of the immune system and the rest of the body. As dermatologists, we play a critical role in diagnosis and management, but often will partner with other specialties to treat complex disease. In this session, we hope to demystify the systemic therapeutics that are often used in treatment of complex skin disease, and in areas where appropriate, will demonstrate how dermatologists can reclaim the management of systemic disease.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1.

Develop treatment algorithms for complex medical dermatologic conditions, namely: connective tissue disease, blistering disorders, neutrophilic dermatoses, cutaneous lymphomas, hidradenitis, GVHD, and cutaneous irAEs.

2.

Manage complications that may arise as a result of systemic therapeutic options prescribed by the dermatologist.

3.

Discuss where dermatologic management can extend in areas of medicine that have traditionally been controlled by other specialties.
